| Toys Made in China..... Do you know (I am sure you do) how difficult it is to find toys NOT made in China. I was in Walmart yesterday and saw LOTS of christmas toys, plush not plastic, that would have LOVED to get my buddy but they all said Made in China and they specifically asked me for no toys made in china.... INPUT please as to what to do. Thanks

| Your right. Now that I am looking. Treats are another thing that have China all over them. Bud's favorite chicken strips come from China which I wasn't aware of until this thing with China made headlines. If China is on the label I won't touch it anymore. Ever! |

| IMO, if they asked for specifically NO toys from China, plush or otherwise, then you don't have to get them toys. This GE is not to make people's lives difficult. I'm sorry, but if they don't want China, then they don't need any, I guess. I mean every single toy is from China so to expect you to find any from elsewhere is kind of wrong I think. I know people have such serious hangups on the China thing, and I don't like it either, but let's try to make the GE be a FUN thing and not make it WORK for our buddies. Good luck And if I were you, I'd just focus on other things and leave the toys out...I don't know what else you can do ???

| im sorry but i wouldnt specify what someone bought me for christmas. I would be thankful someone thought of me, if its something i would use or not, im thankful for whatever i get. I just wouldnt buy any toys then. just get clothes and blankets or something that you know doesnt matter. just my two cents.

Yeah, that... And I wanted to add one more thing, not so sound bratty or snotty, but if you can't be just happy with what you get, then maybe you should just buy your own furbaby stuff and not be in the GE....so instead of getting a buddy you can just get your own pups things...again it's just my opinion, and I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but to me there's a limit to everything, and this has gotten a little out of hand...

| I would go by what is on their list...like the above poster said, if they asked for absolutely no China toys, then no China toys...but if they said plush from China were okay...go for it! My Wal-Mart didn't have any holiday stuff for doggies out when we were there, and I know we would love any cute plush toys....... BTW...it is near impossible to find EVERYTHING to buy that is NOT from China...it is hard......GE's are meant to be fun, so please don't stress..... Happy Shopping!

I see nothing at all wrong with mentioning the fact not to purchase things from China if you don't want them. The OP was only asking for suggestions to help her out since everything seems to have China on them. I think it's very important we support each other in times when harm can come to our furkids. Why waste money on something that will not be used. AND WHY SUPPORT CHINA ON ITEMS THAT CAN HARM OUR PETS AND CHILDREN. I don't think it can ever get out of hand when health to our pets or children are involved. I personally can not see anyone's feelings being hurt to remind them not to purchase things from China. Chances are they wouldn't anyhow but better safe than sorry. IMO.

| rustys mom there are some websites if you search Dog toys made in USA. try that but other wise i just wouldnt buy them toys if they dont want any from china thats too frustrating! TO ME GE is a special event and even with treats that some people dont feed should be allowed to their pets just for GE. Have fun and enjoy! THAT IS JMO

| I specified no China items, but I only meant the Latex ones that were harmful. I try to really not put many restrictions on the gift giver because that's no fun for them!! We just love getting anything they think we would like and appreciate it so much! |

| Thanks for everyones opinions in the matter. I guess the biggest thing is .... Are plush China toys ok and latex not... that was my original thoght but the more I found toys I wanted to buy the more I saw Made in China and I got scared of getting things that my buddy wouldnt appreciate. I want to make this GE one that my buddy will enjoy all things received!!! My intention is not to get any feathers ruffled... mainly to see if my buddy responds what his/her answer would be... Plush Ok or not??

| I decided I was going to stay away from China toys for my buddy because thats what they wanted...so I bought the 1 toy I found made in the USA then I made my own toys with thread made in the USA. They may not be the coolest toys but Beau really likes them and they're safe... I'm okay with toys made in China as long as they don't have paint on them... :-)

| Unfortunately, I am rather offended by a few of the comments on this thread. The GE specifically asks what your dog can and CAN'T have. That is one of the questions. I answered honestly. I threw away close to $100 worth of toys when this whole China thing started, and I do not wish to waste my buddy's money. I thought I was being considerate by specifying "no toys from China". If I shouldn't be in the GE, then so be it. I won't sign up any more. I have loosened up somewhat, in that I am now okay with plush toys from China and toys from trusted sites (such as Barkaholics) that have toys tested for lead. If you would rather make a donation to a yorkie rescue in Gizmo's name, that would be fine with me.

Each person thinks differently and that should be respected. I don't think anybody is offended by that. I guess they don't want to miss the opportunity of buying a cool plush toy made in China when the NO NO meant plush was actually ok.

| Please allow me to apologize for the way this thread has gone. As I stated before my intention was meant to be a good one and not one to offend anyone. Again... I apologize. It is just a little hard because as I research and look at posts from our buddy... it seems like they have everything so it leaves me kind of lost on what to do. I DEFINATELY thought of the donation thing .... I just want to be able to send gifts to our buddy at the same time....
