| Nala's baby will be 3 weeks old tomorrow! I cant believe it has been 3 weeks since the birth of our little puppy love! I was wondering? Is it normal that Nala spends very little time with the baby. I mean Nala feeds her regularly and comes running when other people touch the puppy but thats about it. Nala lets her cry (I say shes ferberizing but my hubby freaks out lol) and Nala sleeps on our bed at night while the puppy is in the basket next to the bed... It just seems strange to me but maybe this is totally normal... Help me out here lol Thanks Rachel http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._1367110_n.jpg Last edited by Rachelena; 09-30-2009 at 04:40 AM. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Rachel, Your description of Nala's spending less time with the baby sounds normal from what I've experienced, however I agree with Dee that she should definitely be spending the nights with the puppy............especially since she is a singleton. She has no siblings to snuggle up with to keep warm and also should be able to nurse when she is hungry. During the day also Nala should have access to her baby at all times & if you even think the puppy might be crying because she is hungry, put her to mama and make sure Nala allows her to nurse for a little while.
