Not before 12 weeks of age...longer if a pup is under 2 pounds. A minimum of 2 vaccinations...vet checks, bile acid tests and eating well on their own.

I think it is best to wait 12 weeks for small dogs.

If you are talking about weaning. I like to let the mom be the judge of that. I let them go to their new homes at least at the age of 10-12 weeks. Depending on size. Sometimes even longer. I like to wait as long as I can. I am never in a hurry to let my puppies go! I don't think anyone is. Am I right?

This is taken from YTCA Code of Conduct/Ethics:

All puppies leaving the breeders possession will be a minimum of twelve (12) weeks of age to facilitate adequate socialization as well as appropriate emotional and temperament development through interaction with siblings, dam and other dogs.

That's what I thought! I've been reading here on YT of people getting their new babies very early

The longer a puppy can stay with mom the more your puppy will be socialized and hopefully mom will have them on the way to being potty training. Puppies learn so much from mom ... just like human kids.

I think the minimum should be 12 weeks.
