| Where can I find a chocolate one??? Yorkie of course!!! I think I am gonna get Roxi a brother or sister and I have absolutley fallen for yorkies!!! There is no other breed for me! So I have made it clear that our next puppy will be another YORKIE!!!! Now here is my dilemma... I never realized there were so many different colors of yorkies. I actually saw one that was labled "chocolate". It was sooooooooooooo pretty! I want one!!! Does anyone know where I can find one for sale? I also love the gold ones, blonde ones, red ones, and parti colors too. Heck, I think I just love all yorkies!!!!!!!! Roxi is a black/gold and I would love to have one of every different color. Thanks alot!!!!! Last edited by rn4ever; 01-12-2007 at 08:20 PM. |

Donating YT 11K Club Member | When I was looking for a chocolate it was very hard to find because a lot of ppl overprice them but I saw a few on puppyfind.com. I got a female from there that was chocolate but now looks to be like a normal yorkie, she's just a darker brown. |

| I love chocolate yorkies to but they are way overpriced. You may want to do a search on line and be careful of the scammers.

| I've heard somewhere that the chocolate ones don't meet the AKC standard for Yorkies. So it's kinda strange that people are charging more for them. Don't get me wrong, I love all the yorkies regardless of color. That's just something I heard. I'd really like a Biewer. They're so pretty!! |

These colors are not the "norm" these colors are caused by a recessive gene. AKC does not recognize these colors as standard. Other members here will explain better than I can. And....some people jack the prices up calling them "rare" when in fact they are not...Just be careful. Good Luck in your search

You are right...as other members will jump in here and tell you. People take advantage by jacking up the price selling them as rare...when in fact they are not! I too would love a biewer but, just couldn't afford one.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | There still is an awesome male biewer available on the for sale site. I have reason to believe she will negotiate with you for the right home. |

| In any purebred breed, a colour(s) may occur that are considered wrong and undesirable. The Yorkie breed standard does not include chocolate, blonde or particolour. Any that occur are considered undesirable and incorrect for the breed. The Yorkie was never intended to be produced in 'many colours'. So, when and if a reputable breeder gets something in their litter that is so wrong colour such as chocolate, they are given to friends, family or sold for a much reduced price for pet only,spay/neuter. I would avoid breeders charging inflated prices for wrong colour calling them rare. You can go to the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website at www.ytca.org there is a tab there about wrong colour likely under frequently asked questions. |

| Hi. I live in NJ and our local classified had two male chocolates for sale. The price they listed was $2,500.00. I'm not sure if they ship or how reputable this person is, but it's not a pet store. It is a private breeder pretty local to us. If you're interested, I'd be more than happy to look up the telephone number and send it to you. Elaine |
