HELP!!Wanted female yorkie, near Alabama!

Hi my name is Nicole, I live in Alabama. I am searching for a female yorkie puppy ( 6-8weeks). I have wanted a yorkie for a very long time, and just recently heard about this site. I am willing to go to any measure to get her. If that means driving to get her( but not too far) or shipping if necessary. I really want her to get no bigger than 3 lbs. If you know of anyone that has a litter, or will be having one soon please contact me on here, or at my email address crossonnicole@yahoo.com I would GREATLY appreciate your help in the search of my yorkie.

I'm not a breeder so someone please correct me if wrong, but I don't think there are many ppl who will sell a yorkie that young,don't they have to be 10-12 weeks? esp the little tiny's, they usually have to be older,right?

Hi! Welcome to YorkieTalk! There are many good breeders on this site that you may be able to get a puppy from. But, as Elista said, it is considered too young to let a puppy go home until (at least) 10 weeks (usually 12). Not only are they extremely tiny and prone to injury, but there are socialization skills that the mother yorkie is still teaching her babies. It is for the health of your baby that you want to wait until 10-12 weeks to bring your puppy home. So, in your search, please keep this in mind and only buy from a breeder who believes this as well. You are correct...partially. There are not (m)any REPUTABLE people who will place a pup at that young an age. (Nor will you find many who purposely breed for 3 pound dogs.) Unfortunately, there are people who will. And I can tell you, the number of people who will in the state of Alabama is astonishing. Unfortunately, our state has not implicated the minimum age release law as many of the others have.

Hi,

I live in Alabama also and had a hard time finding a yorkie near me so I searched the 'net and found a reputable breeder in Henegar, Al. That is north Al close to Tennesee. My male I bought form them is about 5 lbs and his fee was very reasonable too. He was almost 3 months old when I got him and he is the best dog I have ever had, really sweet and humble.
