My furkids Donating Member | calling all thundershirt users!!! Just got a thunder shirt for Bentley...he is a very anxious little guy. has been having seizure like episodes which the vet thinks is caused by anxiety or he gets over excited or "loves" his stuffed toy...I also started him on composure which is an all natural chew treat. I am hoping this does the trick...he is so frightened of EVERYTHING! and is absolutely terrified to ride in the car ...fingers crossed! Have any of you used or are using the thunder shirt and what are your opinions on them...we leave for florida wednesday...we aren't taking the furbutts with us...they are staying with gramma and grampa...so the true test will be on the drive to their house...

| The Thundershirt helped Teddy a lot with his fear of storms. We used it for about a year, and now he doesn't need it anymore. YazminD uses it for her little girl's separation anxiety. I hope it works as well for Bentley to help him with anxiety.

| We tried the Thundershirt for Avery's barking when someone comes over... it didn't work. I was upset at it, but realized it can't work miracles. Hope it works for your baby.

| I also didn't have success with the TS. I used it for my former foster girl Lily. That girl would bark at everything and she was always nervous! All it did was give her really good mats in her hair.

YT 2000 Club Member | I think some dogs are anxiety prone. My JoJO goes nuts in our motorhome. He cannot calm himself down. Last trip he went under the seat and I couldn't get him out. He just freaks. I find if I put pillows around him and sit in the back while husband is yelling to come sit up front with him, JoJo calms down. He is a nervous wreck when in a car or moving vehicle. |

| Thunder shirt I hope it works for your baby as it does for many here. I have one for my boy, but it did not help him with his fears. It needs to be snug and can be hot in warm weather. Good luck, all dogs are different and your boy may well respond positively. Worth a try. |

| That's true forgot to mention that. It didn't work for Lily bc she was too small. She isn't even that small, about 4.5 lbs. I got the smallest size they make and the fabric was way bunched up and still not that tight. It was fitted but not as tight as I thought it should be.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have had pretty good luck with the TS on Pixie. She suddenly became afraid of thunder, rain and other loud noises 2 years ago. Some times it works better than others. When it is really bad I have Xanax from the vet.

Keep using it for awhile. Sometimes the positive effect may take awhile like it did for my Teddy.

My furkids Donating Member | It's funny...Bentley isn't bothered by storms...if they are really bad with loud cracks of thunder they all stand there and look at me like...WHAT was THAT!

There is another member here whose boy isn't afraid of storms, but he is terrified of the car. Cries and shakes to the point where she is afraid that he will make himself very sick. I saw a video she made and it was sad. She tried different dog car seats/crate and finally ended up holding the boy on her lap while her husband drove.
