I bought a crate for Galen. I thought is was the right size. I looks so big. I bought the Midwest Lifestages Double Door Fold & Carry Crate. 24" L X 18" W X 21" H Model 1624DD. It has a divider panel. But still looks so big.

Is this the right size or should I have gotten the smaller one.

I think too big is better than too small.I got this for Huey and he has grown into it. I think it is the perfect size and it is sturdy and can be folded down to pack for travel.

I think that's a good size. You've got the divider panel to make it smaller inside if you need to.

I bought a what turned out to be a too small crate for ZoE. It was fine as a very small puppy, but ended up being just a bit too small as an adult, so I had to buy a bigger one.

I like the bigger ones and so do my pups. They sleep inside them with the door open. Also, they are big enough for a Cloud 9 bed.

I read what you have on your site and agree with what you are saying. We have always crate trained puppies and the first few nights are always difficult. Our puppies have always grown to be well socialized, well behaved, and well loved and loving. We have always started them out in their crate at night. Then we feel terrible guilt when they wimper and cry.

My question is, understanding that yorkie puppies can be prone to hypoglycemia, the bathroom we used previously is on the first floor and our bedroom is on the second floor. I received advice on this site to put her in her crate at my bedside till she got used to her crate and being in it. That way if she has problems in the night, I am right there to help her out if needed (with Nutrical). Do you agree with this or do you recommend we use the bathroom like we did with our other dogs, or the upstairs bathroom instead? Her crate comes down to the den during the day so she is not lonesome. I am afraid to take any chances on her having a problem in the night, especially since she is still very young.

BTW, it looks like you do everything the same we do to train our dogs so I like your style. LOL

I think it's a good size. You don't want to keep buying crates.

LOL I just reread your post above and looked at the dimensions of the crate and say that you were concerned that it was "so big". I had to laugh because the one I bought is 24" H X 48" Round, and I'm thinking this is going to take over our den. LOL We do love our babies don't we???

He is going to be about 4-4 1/2 lbs. I hope bigger but you never know lol they has a smaller one but I don't know. I am obsessing, I am very OCD lol

You know, I was talking about getting a play pen, we already have an airline approved "crate" that I plan to attach to the play pen. Sophie will be sleeping in her crate and not have free range of the play pen unless I need to have her contained while I am out of the room. So sorry for the confusion I sure hope I didn't add to your stress. We are both stressed out enough already! LOL So excited for you and me. Tomorrow is the big day!!
