Has anyone experienced their male yorkie licking his genitals excessively? I have a male morkie who had surgery for a liver shunt almost two years ago and it was a success. He does have a history of stones or crystals in his kidneys now which my vet said to keep a watch on them as there is no way to do surgery on his kidney. And as long as my baby seemed to be doing okay, with no real issues, we were just to keep checking his bile acids each year and keep him on a low protein diet. But, this weekend he started with the licking. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Maybe you could get a urine sample to take to the vet and have them check. Sounds like he's irritated. Maybe an insect bite? If he continues licking, I'd call the vet.
