| Yep! Flea/tick medicine is always a good thing to have. I keep Jackson on K9 Advantix from March-October. The winter months there are not really many fleas and ticks around (so I was told) and we're not outside as much so I don't worry about it. Heartworm preventative is very important too. Jackson is on Iverhart Plus.

| I use frontline plus, but do not use it until I see a flea. Have not had to use any in two years. |

| Frontlline Frontline Plus has worked well for us so far. I also use Heartguard Plus for heartworms. Every spring I treat my yard with a flea and tick preventative when I fertilize the grass, maybe this is helping to keep the ticks to a minimum. Haven't found a tick or flea yet. |

Vector Ban 10% Permethrin Insecticide Liquid Concentrate 64 oz. - Bugpage.com You can find one at hardware stores. Some don't carry them, some do. I couldn't find one at Lowe's. You can also find them online. I love Frontline Plus. | |

| I use Spectracide w/Triazicide Insect Killer Granules with a spreader, I buy it at Lowes every year. Elle may be correct with the name of the chemical (Permethrin) it works where I live (North Carolina). Some people don't like to use things that are labeled "not safe for children or pets" but I guess I'd rather take that risk than have a flea/tick problem. |

| I used that one. A lady at Lowe's said they didn't have it this year. It's a no brainer for me. I hate fleas~~ I do mine in sections. Then I don't let the yorkies on it for a month after it's done. Some may argue it's only sending them to another side of the yard. LOL Boric acid isn't as harmful. That's good for the garage floor. It's dirt cheap & puts an end to bugs. Spread it down a couple times a year, let it sit then sweep it up. It kills fleas. |
