| What do you think of these?? Hi everyone, I plan to buy one of these but I'm not sure which one to get. I love the idea of the fountain. However, I'm concerned that it deals with water and is plugged in. I'm nervous Paisley would try and bite the cord and that would not be good. I know the others would never touch it but she's quite the nosey little monster that loves getting into trouble. I'm also concerned that the fountain would scare them. The other drinking item seems like it would work for them. However, I'm concerned that the water in the bottle would get nasty since it doesn't circulate. With four babies and it being an xsmall, which only holds 2 quarts, maybe it won't be so bad. I figure I'd fill it up every 2-4 days. I'm not sure how much they actually drink because I'm always giving fresh water 3-4x a day now. These are the items. If you have any input I would appreciate the help. Thank you!!

| Thanks for responding. That seems pretty good. I'm constantly filling up now and cleaning the dishes, so only cleaning once a day would be nice.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I've had the pet flow one like in the first picture. To keep the cord out of the way, ours was plugged in next to the refrigerator and I tucked the cord behind the frig. Neither Ruby or Reno ever used it nor did the cats (I bought it originally with one cat in mind, he has to have "fresh",lol). I finally gave it away. I have heard that others have liked it though. I did have to fill it and clean it more often than I thought would be necessary. So, that was another drawback.

| I would stay away from both just because they are plastic. Plastic holds germs- even after you wash it. Also I've heard plastic can sometimes "leak" chemicals into the water.

| Gee Dina....I don't know. I looked into water fountains/containers awhile back, but I read so many bad things about most of them...hard to clean, not staying fresh, hard to find one that is NOT plastic, etc. So, I am still using the glazed ceramic and stainless still bowls all around the house. We refresh the water morning and night. And clean them ALL the time. If you find something, I would love to hear about it.

| My sister bought one for her cat, because he was always drinking for the sink. They had to keep the bathroom sink on for him. He never would drink from the bowl and neither did her to dogs. So I agree, with everyone.

| I had a fountain one for my cats with an resevoir container. I liked it because they always hadfresh water. In summertime we are gone from Thursday evening/Fri am - Mon am pretty much so I knew they had fresh water. It was a little bit of pain to clean but for me it was worth knowing they had fresh water all the time.

| I have two water fountains made by Pet Mate. I have a small and large one. My 3 cats drink out of the small one while 7 of the dogs drink out of the large one. I have to fill the water up for the cats every other day and the dogs since it is a large, I fill it up every 3 days. I love them and wouldn't be without them ever again. I give them a thorough cleaning twice a week. If you give them a choice between a bowl filled with water or the fountain, mine always prefer to drink out of the fountain. The water is so quiet that you don't even hear it so they adjust to it quickly. It keeps the water cold, fresh and clean. And you can tell that it cleans the water because you can tell when it time to replace the filter. As for the cord I tuck it behind the fountain and honestly it has never been a problem, even with Buster who loves to get into everything and loves chewing on things.

| I have the second one Le Bistro. It is formulated with a product call microban. You can search it on the web. it stops microbes from accumulating and living on the plastic. they even put it in baby bottles i think. so i has to be safe if the fda approved it.!!! Bella's never gets yucky. I only have to rinse it in hot water and dry it with a paper towel.. There is Never any funk on the towel! I do this to check to see if there is any slime or anything starting but it always comes out clllllllllllllean! I wouldnt use anything else |
