| Is there anything wrong with Science Diet? I have been feeding my Mia Science Diet (Lamb and Rice, not original) and was wondering what y'all think about it? With the recent scare of poisonous/threatening dog foods, one can't be too safe ya know?! I live in NC and have never heard of some of the dog foods you speak of, so let me know what you think about Science Diet and if I should switch. (PS/FYI- Mia eats well, poops well, is very social, plays and sleeps a lot, is very healthy, and smart, shows no problems, and has a beautiful coat.) Thanks for your help! |

YT 500 Club Member | Armani used to be on that as well. I switched to Welness kibble and canned Merricks, The breeder told me Science diet but If you read the reviews, or the ratings web sites, its not that good. I dunno, I think its what you are comfortable with

| Well, I wouldn't feed S.D. - But that's b/c I will not feed anything at all that has CORN (in any form of text) - WHEAT (in any form of text) - BY-PRODUCTS (in any form of text). There are 'better' quality kibbles out there. Check out: www.dogfoodanalysis.com Try to get a 5 or 4 star rated food. (6 stars has too much protein). I would suggest: Canidae Wellness Merrick Chicken Soup for Dog Lovers Solid Gold California Natural Best of Luck! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I wouldn't feed SD - it's not a really good quality food. I like the above mentioned food, plus Orijen - which I'm feeding now (between homecooked meals).

| I have always fed mine Science Diet. They have beautiful coats, eyes, their stools are good and are very healthy. My Vet told me once he wished all his patients were as healthy as mine, they are never sick.

| Ellie got Science Diet Adult Small Bites for the longest time and then we went to homecooked. We thought she was doing wonderful on SD but after switching we realized that the rough spot of fur on her lower back went away, she doesn't throw up for no reason anymore and her nose is colder a lot more often. I am looking at the Lamb SD and wouldn't feed it because it has corn gluten meal, wheat, salt is way too high on the list, I believe sorghum is a filler... so those are a few. The ones others have mentioned are lots better.
