| Cut Quick I cut her quick and don't have the stuff to keep her from bleeding. I left it at my parents and forgot I left it. If I remembered then I would have never cut her nails. She barely bled, but my question is can I wash her paw tonight before bed or will that make her bleed again? Also, is there any home products I can use if I continue to cut her nails or should I stop? I hate leaving part of her nails not cut because that is probably real uncomfortable. Ooooo....if only should would stay still. It would've never happened in the first place. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | Flour works and so does a bar of soap. Press the bleeding nail into the bar and it will plug it up. i wouldn't worry about her foot bleeding again tonight if you wash her foot. she should be fine.

| I always get the quick when I clip Gracie's nails. Thanks for the posts about home remedies. I keep a large styptic pencil with the clippers and just wet it and press the nail against it for a bit. It stops and never re-bleeds. I have given up doing my own trims. The groomer does them every 6-8 weeks, or for $5 will do them in between. She never clips the quick.
