Feeding question Hello. I am new to Yorktalk and have a question. My little Sissy is 8 years old now and I have just recently switched her to Canidae, her and her brother love it! I leave kibble out all day, and at night I soak about a cup of kibble in some warm water until they get kind of soft, they both enjoy it. Sissy has a very sensitive tummy, I think she has colitis, but since she has been on Canidae no mucusy poop. I also have stopped feeding them tidbits of table scraps. She also has allergy problems too, but that will have to be another subject LOL... Am I doing the right thing? I am afraid if I give her any boiled chicken she will go haywire on me again. Any suggestions to anything else I could feed her (with her dinner), sorry to be so long winded!! Thanks so much!

Yeah, I guess, I am sure they are getting all the vitamins and nutrients in the Canidae, but I would imagine it would get really boring with the same old stuff. I am afraid she might get the runny poops again. That has to be uncomfortable for her.

You are very lucky that she loves her kibble. Personally, if mine were always eating their kibble and liking it then I probably wouldn't start mixing anything with it. Mine tend to get a little picky when they are getting extras. They try to hold out to see if they'll be offered anything more interesting then kibble. That's just my experience. If your don't get picky, then you could try adding some yogurt. I've heard that is good for the tummy. Also, chicken and rice is pretty mild. Good luck!!! By the way, mine are on Canidae too!

Hey, Thanks for the advise on the yogurt. I was thinking of trying that too. I had a yorkie years ago that would only eat boiled chicken, I vowed the next one I got would start out with kibble and sure enough I got two!! I think getting off the table scrap tid bits was a good idea for her sake, although Buster misses the heck out of those goodies...

| Yeah, Stoneyfield Organic yogurt is the best...It has (I think) six live active cultures which are very good for dogs, people, etc. If your babies are eating their kibble just fine, then there's no need to actually mix anything in with it unless you want to. I always give Miko his yogurt separate from his food as a snack. Boiled chicken and rice is also good for their sensitive tummies.
