| Hello i am new to this forum. i just got my furbaby(Connor) 2wks ago. He is 13wks and 2.3 lbs. he is the most adorable little guy with lots of personality. I have a couple of questions....about how much food do you feed a pup like him per day? What brand/type are you feeding your babies? About how big do you think my little "Con-man" will get? Thanks...this forum is great

| Hi and welcome to YT! I am fairly new here myself so can't answer all your questions. I feed Hoku 'Chicken Soup for the Puppies Soul'. I mix it with a crumbled up freeze-dried liver treat and a pinch of the supplement 'Missing Link' twice a day - morning and evening. The rest of the day I free-feed (leave in her bowl) the Chicken Soup plain. My vet says when they are this young and little that they should always have some food and water available so they don't get hypoglycemic (think that's the term).

| Mine free feed and they are two years old so I dont remember hgow much they ate. However you double the weightat 12 weeks to get an estimate of adult weight so I think he will be about 4 lbs

| Oh, if you search for 'growth chart' there is a link on here. I think they say you can 'estimate' their growth by doubling their weight at 12 weeks. I thought Hoku was going to be about 4 lbs. since she was tiny when she was younger but at her exam yesterday she was 12 weeks and just about 3 lbs. so I'm guessing she'll be about 6 when she's full grown. Hope that helps.

| Hello and welcome to the list!! Your Conner will probably get about 4 to 4 and a half pounds but it is only a guess, he may stop growing and he may keep going no one ever knows for sure. As for food you should keep feeding the same food your breeder was feeding for now and if later you want to change be sure you do it over a weeks time as not to up set his delicate system. As far as the amout of food there should always be food set out for him, he should eat as much as he wants and needs at this time of him life. I am hoping your breeder has gone over all of these things with you. Congratulations on your new baby you are going to have many happy and fun years ahead of you. |
