| Reaction to Rabies Vaccine? Harry just got his Rabies Vaccine two weeks ago tomorrow and I have noticed that wher ehe got the shot is a hard bump. He is acting compltetly normal and doesn't seem bothered when I touch it at all. I have called the vet and they said that small dogs can have that reaction and I can bring him in if it is still there next week. I was just wondering if anyone else has had experience with this and how long it took for the bump to go away. Thank you soo much!

| Both of my dogs have gotten bumps under the skin after they have gotten their shots. One time it was quite large so the vet had me apply warm compresses to it for about 15 minutes every couple of hours. This did seem to help it shrink in a shorter period of time. Gizmo had one that was about two inches long and about as thick as your little finger and I was really worried about it but after applying the compresses it was gone in about 3 days.

| Rabies shot reaction Hi Lisa, One of my babies has areactrion to the rabies shot every time he gets it. He gets a lump and then it will abscess. We now take precautionary measures before he gets his rabies shot so the reaction is not so bad. We have put him on antibiotics a couple days prior to getthing the shot. Keep an eye on the lump, and if it does not go away, go back to the vet!! Hope that helps, Beverly |
