| Thanks for bumping this up. I missed it the first time around. I've copied it and saved it as well. Very valuable advice! You never know when you may need it.

| Well, it's been over a year since I posted this. You'd never ever know that Luna had problems eating when we first got her, she's a little chow hound now The thing that really kicked her eating into high gear was getting Izzy She wasn't about to let her eat all the food I feel so blessed that my little tiny girl is thriving, she is just under 4 lbs now at 15 months old and looks like she's 2 lbs Such a healthy bouncy girl, except she spins a lot. I believe she may have suffered some neurological damage due to her sugar being so very low for the first couple of days I had her She's still smart as a whip, and fast too, the only reason I can catch her, I think, is because sometimes she can't stop spinning Anyway, just wanted to bump this up once again for any new Yorkie owners that may have gotten a new puppy for the holidays. Happy New Year!

| Great thread. I agree with Chachi and V, this would be a great sticky! So happy that you updated us on Luna! It's wonderful that she's doing so well! I think more people should go back to their threads from a year ago, and update us all on what has happened since. I'd love reading those threads!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Okay most of you know Diggy also suffered (s) from Hypoglycemia. He had multiple seizures as a baby and was VERY touch and go for a month or so. SO here is what I fed him. Feed EVERY 2-3 hours (set alarm thru the night even) even if they eat just 3 bites its SOMETHING Give cherrios I offer 2-3 every 30 minutes at least. his food was A meat (chicken, beef, turkey) or 1/4 jar of meats babyfood a chopped up fresh veggie 1 egg a lil cheddar cheese or cottage cheese table spoon of cooked rice crushed kibble can be used instead of meat (at 2 am sometimes I didnt feel like cooking fresh meat) just a warning most of this food i cooked went to waste you can only heat up so many times ..... I was big on giving complex carbs that break down into sugar slower that a dose of Kayro or Nutrical which tend to give them a high then a low (when given alone) but when all else fails ya have to use the sugary stuff. The OP's recipe is AWESOME wish I had had it when Diggy was sick...I am certain he got sick of my offerings and mixing it up a bit would have a great alternative.

| I think this needs to be bumped for any new tiny or puppy owners. Nutracal is great stuff, it can save your baby's life, but it's not meant to be given repeatedly, it's more like an emergency thing. Honey or Karo syrup work just as well, and the most important thing is getting REAL food into them after the nutracal, otherwise it can make things worse. Hard to believe that my baby girl Luna is now over 2 years old and such a good eater She's leveled out at 4.5 lbs and I just can't imagine my life without her (and my Izzy too!)
