| A Fat Yorkie?!? Hi all. Lola is now doing fine from her surgery. She got spayed and hernias fixed. However, the vet says for me to watch her diet, as she is getting plump! I feed her 2 sometimes 3 times a day about 2 tbs dry food and at dinnertime, a little bit of wet food mixed in. She used to get lots of treats during puppy school, but now the vet says to be careful. She did not recommend a diet yet, but just for me to limit down the food I feed her. Lola for some reason LOVES to eat. She'll lick the bowl clean even if it's just dry food sprinkled with that vitamin powder thing! And she'll come around to whine at me, as if saying, "alriiiiight.... where's the rest of it, mommy? I know there's more, I'm still hungry, gimme gimme! Stop playing and give it to me!!" And I feel so bad for my little piggy, I almost wished she was a little more picky so I wouldn't feel guilty for what seems like not giving her enough food! one portion of dry food is a little over 1/8 of a cup, is that too much? It totals to about 3/8 of a cup a day which seems ok for a yorkie a little over 5 lbs!! please help! I have since cut her intake to twice a day. |

| Give her some green beans -- they will fill her tummy up and she won't feel so hungry |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Maybe you can increas her exercise. Maybe an extra walk or run around the house with her. I have a Pom who is overweight and it is soo hard to get it off of them. You feel so guilty not feeding them more. I started walking Maya just about everyday and she has lost 7 ounces. It doesn't seem like a lot but when they are on 12 lbs it is pretty good.
