| Wow Nicole ... that is a big difference. And those staples looks painful ... why so many? Poor Baby ... she's so brave. But in my limited knowledge, it doesn't look like Baby had laser. Just thank God that she healed and is in perfect health.

| i would call your vet and find out. when i got Daisy spayed she was 6 months and like 3.5 pounds. She has a small incision and her stiches were internal. You would never really know she was spayed if you looked. I'll take a pic when i go home, but i dont have a pic of her when she came home.

| I just went through the spaying with My Zoie this past week and she had regular surgery and her incision was inbetween what your two pictures look like. She has dissolvable stitches and they look really good. I asked about laser surgery and in my town it was only $20-30 more at one vet to do laser. HOWEVER, they still make an incision to do the LASER SURGERY. They use the laser inside to cauterize the nerves and tubes I think. I can't remember exactly which organs they use it on, but the uterus is removed, so probably on the tubes. Anyway had to throw that in since many of you assumed that laser surgery meant no incision. |

| Yeah vet number two is a total mess up. I'd be furious and demand your money back. If he has anything badly to say show him the pictures you just showed us and say "hey the proof is in the pudding, and If it was the case that you actually DID do laser then how come theres such a dramatic difference?!!!" See what he says to that. LOL If worse comes to worse you could always sue him. The incision should NOT be that long and have staples in it. Hello what if your dog had allergies to a form of metal that you didn't know about? Stitches are much easier and I would think less painful and more sanitary Plus not many dogs (if any) are going to be allergic to them. sorry. That vet should be put to sleep.

| Sadie's stitches were inside & so I couldn't see them. I can't even see a scar now. I thought it was very good work done by my vet & I was pleased. She was really tired that night after I took her home & all the next day, but by the third day she was back to normal (but I still kept her activity to a minimum).

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i just want to point out that the size of the incision is not standard spay to spay and doctor to doctor. Baby could have been spayed with a laser but the Vet doing it might have needed to open her up a little more for whatever reason. he might not have been able to find her avaries and cords in such a tiny incision or they were buried under alot of other stuff. The vet's i used to work with always tried to keep the incision small but sometimes they had to make it slightly bigger to find everything and make sure all the blood vessels were tried properly. The vet you used could have not been as experience with the laser as the other vet and that's why his incision was bigger, also. If you upset though i would call the vet and talk to him directly and ask why it is so big and why he used staples on a spay. that's unusual

| That does look awfully big compared to Zoie's. I hope Baby healed okay...poor little girl. Let us know what you found out if you call the vet.

| Well, I tried to get a pic on here, but.................. Ginger got spayed on the 21st of June. Her incision was only about 1/2 inch long. It only had two stitches in it. You just about can't even find it right now. I always thought when they did laser surgery, there wasn't ANY stitches!?!? I thought the advantage of the laser was to prevent stitches and scaring. Guess I was wrong. Not the first time I've been wrong!! So, I called my vet. Yep. I was wrong. They said that with laser surgery, there is less blood loss because they are carterizing (sp) the incision as they cut. But that there ARE stitches. They did say that they thought that 10 stitches was a bit much!! Seems to me that either your vet got a little wild with the surgery, or there was more to it than just spaying Baby. She's ok tho, right? Suz

| Rylie was just spayed on Monday, and her cut looks more like Zoie's picture maybe a little longer, i not sure how he did the surgery i just know that they look pretty much the same. I do have a question that if anyone can answer that would be great... How long till they start feeling better? My girl Rylie has been very mopey and defently not feel well at all. she isisn't acting her self.. How long did it take your girls to recover, and start acting a little normal?

| My Zoie was done last week and on the third day she was playing again. Before that she didn't play, just layed around mostly and went outside some. |
