| Cooking for my baby - advice needed Since Sissy was sick last week, she is refusing to eat her dry kibble, will only sometimes nibble at Natural Balance canned chicken & rice, and has started refusing her hard treats. She will always eat people food, though. I have begun cooking for her out of frustration (I have tried 3 different dry foods in the past week to no avail). My dilemma is how much is enough? For breakfast she is getting some scrambled eggs mixed with spinach (about 1/4 cup) and some fruit (apple, mango, banana or papaya). For dinner, I am doing boiled chicken with rice, spinach and carrots. She eats all the chicken, but will leave some of the rice and veggies behind (bout 1/2 cup total). What else should I be giving her and is this enough?

Yeah, I kind-of feel that way too. But she has to eat!! None of this began till she got sick. I think she may be associating her food with sickness?!

Glad to know I'm not the only one!! My vet gave me another resource as well. Check out Raw4dogs.com. They sell frozen meet mixed with veggies in different combinations. The idea is to serve raw, but it can be cooked. Might be a good alternative. I found a local supplier in Michigan and will be trying some out.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I also cook everyday for Cali. Chicken and ground beef. I have her on Missing Link supplement. She too stopped eating her dog food when she was sick back in Feb. My goal is to get her switched over to Merricks wet by the end of summer.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali gets about 1 1/2 tablespoons in Morning of chicken with a dab of Cesars and same at 3 and at 10pm. I use a very low fat and low protein chicken. She seems hungry even after I feed her but her weight is perfect now I don't want her to get overweight. My 13 lb Pom eats 3/4 a can a day of Cesar's and she's overweight! Cali's 4 1/2 lbs. just watch her weight and if she starts gaining I will cut her food back a little

| Royce eats homemade diets only his main meal consists of chicken or beef mixed with vegtables and fuits ( a puree of at leat 3 cooked fruits and 3 cooked vegetables) i add to that brown rice, a bit of canola oil and a bit of cottage cheese, for snacks I give him vegetables ( baby carrotts, brocoli, peeled apple, cottage cheese, plain yogurt hard boiled egg once a week .) For his main meal ( twice a day ) I mix 2 full tbl spoons of chichen with one full tblspoon of vegetables and fruits puree, 1 less full spoon of rice 1 tea spoon or less of oil and a bit of cottage cheese . The vet advised me that small dogs need more protein in their diets |
