| how bad is it... how bad would it be to just leave the baby teeth alone? i think bunjee's got 2 canines left. the adult teeth growing one in front of the baby instead of inside outside formation. i wiggle his canines to check on it every so often and it's not budging. i'm wondering, how bad would it be to just leave it there for a while like give it up to a year or 18 months before having it removed rather than having it removed at 10 months if its not come out yet? |

| I have a 20 month old yorkie and just had her teeth removed about a month ago. Her baby teeth were growing on the gum side of her mouth. My vet had told me to have them removed when she was spayed but due to funds kept putting it off. In the end I wish that I had the baby teeth removed and spayed much much earlier. She ended up having to have a deep cleaning due to the amount of build-up that had accumilated over the year. I definately recommend your baby have them removed soon, before it becomes a problem periodontically. Bunjee will be much happier and healthier. It can also be a bigger problem when the teeth are growing on the palate side and could affect the development and alignment of his teeth. Hope this helps!! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I was wondering also. Cali has retained all of her baby teeth but I had her spayed at the time she was at the ER vet for a possible intestinal blockage and I asked if they coulod remove the baby teeth while she was under and the surgeon said they didn't normally handle teeth removal but would try and get some of them out. Well she told me that at the end of the surgery Cali was having trouble maintaining her body temperature and they wanted to bring her to right away and didn't remove any of the teeth. I hate to have her put under again so soon. Is there any way these teeth wil come out on their own she's almost 10 months old?

| Hi Sandy, Definitely, definitely have his teeth removed. Not only can it cause his bite to be off but it can also be painful for Bungee. I was doing a lot of research on this topic before I got Simba and this is a very important issue. If you plan to have Bungee neutered you can get it done at the same time. Patti, at 10 month old I doubt that they will come out on their own... Anita |

| I have to Disagree on this Bear my Maltese Pom had his lower K-9s retained and I was terrifies to have him put under anastia as he was just over 3lbs so I left them and every so often I would check and see if they were still there and one day I checked and they were both gone I had been giving him rawhides so that he could loosen them he was 2 1/2. He had no pain I checked with the vet and I also had him checked for build up and his teeth were really clean.. His son Bj also had one that was double and it came out on its own. So in my opinion they are fine if left alone.

| Zoe's baby teeth all just fell out recently at 6 months. I was going to leave them in if they haven't fallen out however get them removed when he gets neutered. Give them some time since you already had your baby undergo anesthetics. Its weird how your vet didn't extract all the baby teeth during the surgery. I play rather rough tug a war with my baby boy and I think thats how they fell out so quick. I never hurt him of course.

| Are all the teeth in Mayzie's mouth (5months) baby teeth? She should lose all that she has or just certain ones? |

| i had bunjee neutered at 4 months. he hardly had any adult teeth at the time so there was no sense in removing baby teeth at the same time. i'm still hoping his teeth will all come out by 10 months so i can forgo the stress and cost of having him put under again for the extractions. he'll be 10 months in mid july... keeping fingers and paws crossed hoping this would be a moot point by then. |

| I would say remove them, it will be less painful for both you (financially) and your yorkie if you remove them sooner. I found both my yorkies retained their top canines. They had very bad stinky breath if not brushed daily, you could see the build up between the teeth which would soon cause cavities....... I had Daisy's removed with her spading and hope to remove Bear's with his neutering. |

| I would suggest at some time you should have them removed if they don't eventually fall out... my vet said "plaque" will buildup in those areas where there are too many teeth close together.

| I had Astro's removed not to long ago and he did great didnt even act like it hurt him at all. I don't know what vets around there charge but Astro's was only $20 for 6 teeth.
