| Eating Sticks Hi... Punkin has a new habit - she picks up small pieces of sticks and twigs and eats them (crunches and swallows before we can get them away from her). Anybody else have a dog that does this? I'm worried that it might make her sick. She only seems to do it in our backyard - which we have been raking to try and get up everything she can eat. Any suggestions on what might be causing this - or it is normal? Thanks! Alexis (I'm sure Punkin would be upset that I'm asking - she really seems to enjoy them) |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Rebel and Woodie are wood eaters...Rebel since I got him. I've not had any problems with it but try to take it away from them every chance I get but every so often, they get away with it.

| Hey! To funny both my girls have started chewing on sticks recently! Chloe my yorkie will bring one inside and will share it with Kylie her maltese sister! I try to grab it from them at every chance but they are such fast little buggers with those short little legs!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Cali loves wood, sticks, levaes. She chews on the wood of my boxspring all the time. I keep spraying it but she just moves over. She has eaten a lot of our woodwork, speakers metal knobs. But give her food and she turns her nose up at it!

| Oh yes... Wosie is a termite as well! Thank goodness she confines herself to the outdoor wood only! She loves twigs, seeds, and the bird seed near the feeder. Silly little beast!

| Eating Sticks Glad to see my furbaby isn't the only one that eats sticks. I thought it was because she saw her big fursister (my lab) eating the sticks. But it sounds like she would have done it on her own, even if she hadn't seen Maddie eating them. Sometimes Sadie will wait while Maddie chews up the bigger sticks and she waits for the little sticks to fall. Then she'll grab one and run with it so she can chew on it. Maddie doesn't care because she is working on the bigger sticks. They are very strange. I have to watch though because sometimes my lab gets bad stomach aches. She does a lot of stretching when her tummy doesn't feel good. When she starts stretching like that, I send her outside and usually make up some white minute rice to help settle the tummy. These babies are just too funny. They have such funny little quirks. |

| LOL bumping a 7 1/2 year old thread, but Cookie does this all the time despite my best efforts to wrestle everything away from her. I'm glad it's not something serious.
