| Teeth cleaning $1400-1600 I just took my 5.5 lb yorkie and my 11 lb maltese They were quoted at $1500 (with extractions but $1200-1300 if no extractions) for the 5.5 and 1600 for the 11 lb. Do you think this is high? I thought so I am thinking of just buying the scaling tool kits and doing it DIY scrape tarter at home. I actually use scaling tool kit to scrape my own teeth too |

| Price really depends on the area you live in. Scaling your dogs teeth at home is a dangerous and horrible idea. You can not polish the teeth afterwards and the groves in the teeth will leave areas for bacteria to grow. You also can not get under the gum line and if you do it will hurt! Dental X-rays are also necessary which should be done during a dental so you can find issues that are not visible like bone loss and abscesses. If your dog needs teeth pulled you obviously can not do it yourself. It’s much better for your dog to have a full dental done at the Vet.

| I don't know where you live, but yes, sounds a bit high. I pay between 600 and 700 with no extractions. Totally agree with all that Taylor said above. Scaling your pups' teeth is a huge no no. No one should do teeth without xrays and anesthesia. Removing what you see is a waste of time...it is NOT the problem. The problem can ONLY be seen on xrays. Please be kind to your teeth and those of your pup.

I think the price is very high. Can you get another quote? I just had Teddy's done and it was much less than that but I am in the UK so may be price differences regionally. | |

| Your price is exactly what we pay in my area. Just had my 11 year old done and the total was $1600 with his few extractions. Not sure how price varies in the states. On another note, just hate having my pups put to sleep but no avoiding it with dental. |

| Cody gets his teeth cleaned every year in June, no extractions ever, I pay $700. he is 13 years old and has all his teeth, I pray this June there will be no teeth extracted. Prices vary depending where ppl live so it's hard to say if you're paying to much. Please do not do any DIY with your pups teeth, you can do more harm than good, and dogs do not sit still.

| Bella went in today and with the extractions that were needed the cost was $1700. She is getting to that age where some extractions are needed.
