YT 500 Club Member | What Have you Used For Allergies Sammie is going to the vets this morning to see what we can do about his allergies. What have you used that was successful? I have him on grain free and that does nothing for him. Scratching and non stop chewing his paws. I have been up three nights in a row with him and I am about to lose it and so is he!! The cytopoint has not helped or the allergy pills they use now. So what have you used. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | For my Marcel, both Apoquel and Atopica were miracles!! He used to wake up at 1:00am to chew/lick his paws, poor baby. It made things SO much better. *IF* used correctly, both of those meds can be game changers in quality of life with respect to allergy symptoms. Other options would be Temaril-P (antihistamine + a little steroid), Prednisone (steroid only; not ideal for longer term), or allergy testing with desensitization drops or shots. YT 500 Club Member | Thanks. Just got back from the vet. He has fleas so we are going to put him on steroids for a week to give him instant relief and I gave him flea and tick medicine today also. If he still itches after the flea stuff kicks in we are going to do the Atopica The other stuff does not work for him. She said with the Atopica he has to get blood work every 6 months. |

Oh! If allergic to flea bites, then this would def explain the constant itching.
