| ![]() So, needless to say I won't be letting my dogs lick my face anymore, LOL! This morning I let the dogs out to use the bathroom outside in our yard. In the meantime I was cleaning the kennel from the night before. When I went to let the dogs back in, I noticed our new puppy Leo EATING my OTHER dog's poop. WTF!!!!! ![]()

| ![]() Max is a poop eater too. The method I swear by is pineapple. I buy Dole's frozen chunks. I split 1-2 pcs per day between Max and Sasha. I give Sasha the bigger pcs since it is her poop being eaten by Max. As long as I continue to give them this treat which they love Max does not eat the poop. I read something about an enzyme (bromine?) in pineapple that makes the poop no longer appetizing to the dogs. Whatever it is it works. If I stop giving it to them he goes back to eating it.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Dogs eat poop for a reason - so that's what I'd explore before anything else. I would take this as a sign that you should change dog food immediately - what are you feeding...? With some dog food ingredients, they come out the other end still intact - undigested. This means that it STILL smells just like food - the dogs can smell that, making it still appealing to them - so, they eat it. You want a food where everything in it gets as digested as possible - causing the poos to come out firm, formed, small, compact - and then dry up sorta fast....not appealing for dogs to eat, as there is no food in that kind of feces. Yuck, btw! So, tell us what you're feeding the puppy and the other dog and maybe we can help there. ![]()

| ![]() I tried everything. He still loves it. Also the issue is he is pad trained so he does it when I am at work and not able to be there to pick up the poop right away. I may try the pineapple again.

| ![]() We have the same issue. They are both pad trained and we both work. Toni would look at the camera and see poop but when we got home it was gone. I don't think they were cleaning it up and throwing it away! But on the pineapple it is there when we come home. It took at least 2-3 days of feeding the pineapple before he stopped. I occasionally miss a day but they get it at least 5-6 days a week now and it absolutely helps him stay away from the poop du jour!

| ![]() Casie is now just over 1.5 years old and she's still eating her poop. Unlike Scottie, she's potty pad trained. For a while, she was good at keeping a consistent poop schedule to align with Scottie's outdoor potty walks. Only when we're doing the outdoor potty walks can I pick up the poop right away. But for whatever reason, the past couple weeks she's been off and been pooping while I'm at work. Last night, she pooped while we're sleeping. I've kept to the same feeding time. It's quite the pickle. Anyway, I tried meat tenderizer and it made her vomit a few times, which scared me. Maybe I'll try doing the pineapple / pumpkin a day. maxdog, so whenever you stop the pineapple, Max will eat his poop again? Casie is so disgusting. She likes to pick it up and eat it all over my condo. I picture her throwing the crap all over the play - like a pillow fight? When I come I see these little crap crumbs everywhere. She's like the crap monster (re: cookie monster).

| ![]() Yes unfortunately if I stop he starts. I can skip a day or two but cannot go extended periods w/o pineapple. It has become such a part of our routine that it is not a big deal at all.
