| Is Hill's Science Diet Small Toy Breed food good for my 2 Yorkies??? I've been feeding my 2 yorkies the Science Diet Toy Breed and they seemto have good energy, eat good, and seem healthy. However I've read tons of good and bad reviews about this product. For those in the know is this food a top food or should I be looking into something else? A 15lb bag runs me $30 and I'm comfortable with that price range. |

| To be honest, I used to be really focused on the reviews of food and would get myself so stressed out trying to find a food that didn't have any ingredients that were controversial or had the highest review. However, in the last year I have come to realize that Sophie's response to the food is far more important than the review. My husband and I decided last year when Sophie was sick that we were going to stop worrying about finding her "the best" because quite frankly most of "the best" foods were making her sick or she flat out refused them. We finally have found one that she seems to enjoy, her coat is healthy, good bowel movements, good energy and she went from refusing food once-twice a week to roughly twice a month. A lot of people use Science Diet on here, we had considered using the Ideal Balance but I can't remember why we went with the food she is on now (I think it had to do with chicken though). So honestly, if you have found a food that your dogs enjoy and are doing well on, I would just stick with it. We have had to change Sophie's food so often that she now gets tired of her food very quickly and wants a new kind. So, I would just keep them on a food they enjoy and are tolerating. |

| Some people really like Science Diet Ideal Balance. I home cook but when I've used dog food I've used Royal Canin Yorkshire terrier or the Mini. The kibble are pretty small and the dogs always liked the food.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Many here feed Hills and like it. Totally up to you and what you prefer / like . My fave kibbles are Natures Logic, Natures Variety, Solid Gold Barking At The Moon or Wee Bits, Wellness Core, Acana...etc...

| To be honest , you will get many opinions about Hills being good or not so good . A very good website to look at IMHO , is the Dog Food Advisor. They appear to look at the ingredients and go into details on what the food is compromised of . If nothing else , it makes for good reading . There are also discussions going on about different dog foods by the readers of the site .
