| is my yorkie okay? This morning we carried on normally, i gave him food he ate a little then a while later he threw up. It wasn't food, plain yellow-ish liquid. Also his ears doesn't stand up it points to his back and his tail shows down a lot. We first used royal canine but i sae there's some ingredients that yorkies shouldn't eat, we changed him to jock but that makes him poop A LOT! Like, more than a full grown Jack Russell , I'm gonna change him to Purina Husky maybe that'll help but is there certain stuff i should do and would food have something to do with him vomiting? I'M REALLY WORRIED ABOUT HIM |

| First thing if he is throwing up yellow bile was that before he ate because he could have gone to long between meals. As for changing foods that's very hard on them it should be done slowly and research the food before starting it . You can give a little pumpkin to help his tummy maybe a teaspoon just canned pure pumpkin not pie filling. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | The yellow stuff sounds like bile to me. If his ears aren't standing and you want them too, you have to tape them ASAP.

| How old is he ? And how big is he ? I feed Sophie three times a day otherwise she gets sick. I would leave food out all day if he is a puppy |

You may not like RC but I can assure you there is absolutely nothing in that dog food that would be harmful to your yorkie. I have fed every line of that dog food, from cradle to grave, on all my yorkies, for at least 35 years, and never had a problem. You may not like it for your own personal reasons, but there is nothing in that food that is "harmful" or that "yorkies shouldnt eat"! Absolutely false information, strictly your individual opinion, that everyone else in the world that is and has been confidently feeding this food, needs to discard! Sounds like to me you are not feeding your little baby enough....he needs to be free fed at the age your baby is...so he can eat when he is hungry....his gut is empty if he is vomiting yellow bile.... | The food conundrum can be a very touchy issue as a lot of people have different feelings about ingredients and brands- I know I took a lot of commonly held beliefs for fact at first and really struggled for Lilahs first two years with feeding. Actually, it was royal canin that Lilah ever first succeeded at- it blew my mind because it went against what a lot of other people said but it was what my baby did best on. So definitely see what your little pumpkin does good at because it might not be the same thing as the yorkie next door As was mentioned, food transitions should be done slowly by blending, starting out with a very small amount at first and working up the quantity for about a week. That should help ease some tummy troubles. Also, as was also stated- it is very important that your young, growing and active pup have access to food multiple times a day or free access (that works well for us even though Lilah is an adult, not for everybody i realize) to food. Poop happens lol, and at least it isn't Great Dane sized! It is one of our mommy responsibilities to clean up about. Also, if they are pooping you have a health gauge right there to help you keep track of your babies well being, so it really isn't so bad. You might consider adding a probiotic to pups diet to help the digestive system function, we like to use ark naturals chewable daily probiotic. It is like a treat. Good luck with your puppy and your food choice- that can be a tough one for many.
