| Canine Tooth Removal Has anyone here had to have there dogs adult canine teeth removed? We have 4lb, 7 year old that has been in for regular cleanings. Took him in the other day and vet says canine teeth need to be pulled. I understand these teeth are a structural part of a dogs jawbone so its a pretty big deal. Sad to see him loose all of his teeth... |

YT 500 Club Member | I totally agree with barny. Had trouble with my last Yorkie at 18 months. We went to a doggie dental specialist. Thank God she was able to save his bottom canines. Had to remove several other teeth to save just canines This is a very big surgery. Please don't rush into it. If you have a specialist in doggie teeth please consult. Wishing you luck. |

| Thanks guys for the input. Yes vet wants to remove the lower canine teeth. Dog is on antibiotics for infection in his mouth. I think I am going to make sure he doesn't remove the teeth. He was scheduled for surgery tomorrow. Will still take him in for a follow up to see what doc has to say...... |

Otherwise, like Cathy said - I'd be seeking out an actual Vet Dentist - they are the true experts for this.
