| MissingLink Plus is a good supplement. It is specially formulated for joint support. |

| does it have a high amoutn of protein? Lil Bear has a liver shunt which is small enough to be taken care of with diet but we have to be real careful about her protein in take. Can you find the missing link stuff in petsmart are doing you need to get it from a speciality place?

| I would talk with the vet about acceptable supplements if Lil Bear has a Liver Shunt. It isn't worth taking a change on compromising his health. Good Luck. |

| You can get Missing Link at Petsmart. You sprinkle it on their food.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I use a spray from Petco called Joint and Hip Formula it's made by Pet Authority for my 9 year old Pom who has a hip problem. She's been on it for 3 weeks and it seems to have made a little difference. I use their Vitamin and Mineral spray for Cali. The website for Pet Authority is www.pet-authority.com. I like the fact that is sprays on the food. It doesn't say anything on it about protein.

| I have been doing a little research on this because my Ellie tore her cruciate ligament and I chose not to have the surgery, but to let it heal on it's own. I was looking for a supplement to promote healing. I came across Syn-Flex. It is in liquid form which is absorbed quicker. I believe most people use it for arthritis. If you google it you can directly to their website. It sounds like a great product so I just ordered it. Maybe someone else uses it or has heard of it and can give more input.

| Does anyone that uses Missing Link have any loose stool problems? I gave it to Lily for awhile but she had really loose stools so I quit.

| I just found a great dog food with the joint supplement in it. It is by Mother Hubbard(how cute) . I use the Wellness formula in the purple bag. It is for weight management. Both of mine are 9 and 8 years old and a bit overweight. They love the food, though. I'm sure there are other formulations- check it out! |

| Thanks for the advise, all our vet has said is to buy glucosime/condrtin(sp) tablets in a low does and give that to lil bear, I would rather get something that is made for a small dog, makes it easier on my mom when it comes time to give her the stuff. The spray sounds like an option, one thins that worries me about the missing link stuff is lil bear is soooo picky with her food and who knows if she willlike the missink like taste. A spray might be easier to hide

| I fed Wellness -- the Fish and Sweetpotato formula. It is a good food, but it was supposed to be for coat improvement and it didn't help at all. The dogs ate the food like there was no tomorrow, but Chattie's dry coat problem only got worse. Now that I have been feeding Innova EVO for over a year, Chattie has a healthy coat and it is growing! Yeah for Innova. As far as the joint problems go, since you are dealing with liver shunt, I would not feed anything without my vet's approval. There are several topicals for human use for joint problems I wonder if any of those would be safe? |
