| Merrick food? I am so tired of trying to find mia a healthy food to stick too. She has been through blue , ultra, Wellness, natural balance, science diet countless money ive spent on food she never liked. I had her on natural balance for about 3 months and noticed a huge change in her , like she was allergic to an ingredient in natural balance LID she started to scratch more then the usual bite her nails and paws which she never had done. I switch her to wellness Simple gradually ofcourse , when she began to eat it she liked it for about a month and totally stopped the scratching in her. But now she starves and rather not eat at all. Its been 2 days in a row now that her food is untouched, she looks skinnier . Im worried, on yorkietalk I heard so much about the famous grammys pot pie from merrick that I went and bough the very small 3oz I think to give it a try. When I opened it , it actually smelled very good to me for a dog food, I poured half of that small can into a bowl and also poured a salmon flavored can of wellness simple In a different bowl side by side, ( Mia LOVES salmon flavored things, FYI this salmon canned flavor she never tried it before) She digged right into the merrick even came back 2 min later after licking the plate clean to see if there was more ,didn't even look at the salmon whatsoever. My question is . Is merrick grain free a good quality food? Should I give this a try. Any suggestions. |

| Merrick Hi! Yes, Merrick is a high quality dog food. The website "dogfoodadvisor" has a lot of good info about different dog foods and whether or not they are a good quality. Whenever your baby won't eat I would give her some cooked chicken breast so she doesn't go hungry. Additionally, some stores such as ValuPet if you have them in your area, sell small sample sizes of dog food to try. This store as well as Petsmart will allow you to exchange food if your pup doesn't like it. |

| I wouldn't feed my dogs Merrick - They had recalls and didn't handle them good at all. Just do some research on them. I would recommend you try Fromm Grain Free foods a try - They are family owned since 1904 if im correct and never had a recall. |

| The FDA has been on the back of that company. I wouldn't be comfortable.

| Heard of a lot of quality control issues with them in the past, not totally comfortable with their company BUT IMO, if it was the only food my enthusiastically ate and it was working and basically nothing else was, I would still feed it. They do seem to have improved over the past few years too. I think the issues were more within their treats than the food. Lots and lots of treat recalls in the past due to salmonella issues but I don't believe their food ever was, FWIW.
