| Help! Vomiting :( Not sure what happened last night but both my dogs started vomiting in the early AMs this morning...The vomit smells really bad and to top it off they also have diarrhea. D: It's so odd because I usually cook food for them- maybe it was bad turkey? But I'm sooo worried I had to go to work this morning and I wont be back for another 4 hours so I cleaned up their playpen and left them fresh water and left. Anyone got advice on how to handle this? I'm most worried about my 7month puppy shes only 3 lbs D: |

| Vomiting and diarrhea can dehydrate a yorkie quickly. I would get back to check on them as soon as possible.

| Anytime I have any stomach issues with vomiting or diarrhea, I always put down Pedialyte for drinking water. Mine are used to Pedialyte and drink it without hesitation....if new to your dogs, they may not drink it readily, and you dont want to leave a pup that has vomited and has diarrhea, without hydration....maybe give Pedialyte when you are at home in the evenng.....But, as already said, dehydration can happen quickly and then you can end up with an emergent situation, especially if they are home all day alone...... I was told years ago by a breeder to "never give turkey....it causes diarrhea." So I just never have.....chicken, lamb, beef in that order, seem to work for me. You can try some canned pumpkin for the diarrhea...keep hydrated, let their tummy rest 12-18 hours, which it is doing today while you are at work and they are not eating....start back slowly, maybe a couple bites of live cultured yogurt for the gut, then go on with boiled, unseasoned chicken, a little rice with it, and some pumpkin. That will work for a lite dinner tonight....and if this vomiting is continuing thru the night, vet tomorrow morning! |

| Thanks everyone for the responses! They're doing muchhh better today no more vomiting. The vet suggested I fast them for 24 hours and that's what I did and gave them plenty of water. Now all I have to worry about the most is their stinky beds! Time to go to laundromat |
