| Hills K/D wet food I need my dog to eat Hills K/D wet food but she won't go near any prescription dog food. What can I add to the wet food to make it more appetizing. 6 year old in kidney failure. |

| I know that two of my past Yorkies who had Kidney Failure did not like the Hill's K/D but they did love the Purina NF canned food. Is that an option for you to try. My Vet carries both Hill's and Purina RX Foods.

| Same here.....I always go with Purina NF. I am sure your vet will say it is fine! Good luck!

| I picked up purina nf dry and she wants nothing to do with it. Never thought to try wet. It takes my vet a week to get the food in. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | You could also try sprinkling some Parmesan Cheese on the food, if it's okay that she has it...Parm is nice and pungent and can be really enticing for doggies.

| There is a new k/d out now that is a stew. If you haven't already tried that, you could see if your vet could get it for you.

| When my pup went on a prescription diet for her liver, my vet recommended putting an open baggie with bacon bits in it, into a sealed baggie containing the prescription dry food. The dry food will absorb the smell of the bacon bits and hopefully be more appealing to the dog. Make sure you don't feed them the bacon bits though. Luckily Daisy loves the taste of the food and I didn't have to even try the bacon trick. I would ask the vet about this if your are thinking about trying it just to be sure it is ok. Good luck.

| I thought it sounded pretty neat too. I would love to hear if it works for anyone.

| She might have just said that for Daisy. At the time she first started on her prescription food we were ordered to stop all treats and human food in order to get her liver enzymes back down. You're right though, I don't see why it would hurt the pups to eat a few.
