| ![]() Hi All, I just joined YT and an happy to be a part of your family. I got my boy on May 1 and he is going on 14 weeks. He is doing well, he plays, runs, etc. The only issue i have is that he has loose stools most of the time. He is scheduled for his next Vet visit on May 30. I am currently feeding him Merrick puppy wet food. He likes it. I'm confused bc I know that this is a high quality food, yet it seems to cause loose stools. I also have Wellness puppy dry kibble but he doesn't eat it as much. My goal is to have him eating the dry as I think wet foods might tend to cause loose stools. Any help? I know I can buy another kind of wet food but not sure if that will solve the issue. Anyone experience this? Will my puppy get better at eating the dry food? Thanks. |

| ![]() Hello and thanks for the quick response. I do try to mix dry with wet. But he ends up eating the wet and leaving the dry kibble. My previous yorkie just ate dry. So perhaps it's just a matter of time until he gets a bit older that he'll like eating the dry. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() Did the loose stools start after you started a different food than what he was eating at his breeders? If yes, then I'd go back to the previous food...wait a while...and switch to a different kibble later. To make dry food more appealing, sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on it..it's nice and pungent and can often help dogs since they eat first w/ their noses. You also may want the vet to do a fecal.
