Chronic pancreatitis and Hills i/d food?

My 4 year old Kiri was diagnosed with pancreatitis a little over a year ago, and the vet put her on Hills i/d. I feed her a mixture of about 1/2 kibble and 1/2 canned food every evening, and she gobbles it up. I have noticed though that she is itching several times a day, but I don't see any skin irritation, insect bites, etc. So now I'm worried. Also, add to this the fact that last night I spent about an hour reading about Hills on various websites and getting scared to death.
I don't know if the itching is a food allergy or not. I know that she really can't tolerate much fat at all or the yucky-looking diarrhea comes back. I'm wondering if she might have a grain-based allergy.
I have tried other very low-fat foods (Royal Canin, Wellness, Purina something or other), but she hasn't done as well on them as she has on Hill's.
What should I do???

If you want to home cook, petdiets can make a diet for the dog. She made my pancreatitis dog a diet back in 2010 and he is doing well on it. He so eats the RC gastrointestinal lowfat kibble.

Allergies are usually not from food. Possible yes, but not so probable. As to the reading about Hill's, there are some people who bash Hill's but my pups eat various Hill's products without any issues at all. It is one of the most reputable dog food companies!!!

My Rosie has problems and uses Hills I/D. I also have a home cook recipe I use for her from petdiets.com. I would not change any food without discussing with my vet or having a consult with a nutritionists since your baby has had problems.

I fed Hills I/d for three years after Piccolo had pancreatitis with never a problem and I think it helped save her life. It never occurred to me at the time to home cook, but I would be open to trying that now, if something else happened. I did switch Piccolo, after three years to a different food very, very slowly.

You want to feed low fat proteins. If you want to home cook, white meat chicken, ground beef drained of fat, beef hearts and low glycemic veg, such as romaine, squash cabbage, broccoli, spinach, starches like sweet potato. With probiotics, digestive enzymes and I-glutamine

Sorry to hear what u are going through. When u start googling stuff you're most likely going to get a lot of bad stuff. Truth is, there isn't a dog food out there that don't have some bad reviews. Just keep listening to your vet. Your doing a great job already.
