| I would wait until at least 6 months if not 7 or 8. Also make sure you do presurgery blood work.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I agree, she is a bit too young for a spay. The norm is at least 6 months of age. When ever she does get it done I hope she has a smooth and quick recovery !

| they will be doing the blood work for certain. I am following my vets advice as to when it should be done. I wasnt pressuring to get it done sooner or later. Just when they said it was time. |

| Many people wait until they finish teething (closer to 8 months) so if any baby teeth don't fall out they can be removed while under anesthesia for spay. Also some recommend waiting until then when their growth plates have closed.

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I agree. I would wait until you can pull the puppy teeth at the same time

| Well she is already in there to get it done. I have also seen all over that its best to get it done before there first cycle and that can happen any time after 6 months. She weighs 7.1 pounds now. wow shes grown. Going to be a bigger yorkie girl. |

I waited w/ Pfeiffer until she was 7 or 8 months to get spayed. But yes, now that she's already in surgery - I hope she does well and has a speedy recovery - please let us know when she is out. I highly recommend you get pain meds from your Vet AND ask what the plan is if her pain is NOT under control at home -- ask what you should do. Some vets will have you give 1 1/2 dose instead of single dose or whatnot...but always have a pain plan...remember, this is major abdominal surgery, which really hurts.
