| HELP is it Cushings or something else I have a 10 yr old female yorkie who was diagnosed with Cushings 5 months ago. Lately she has exhibited bizarre behaviour. She sit on the carpet and goes round and round in circles all the time licking at the air. She will also sit looking into a corner and shake and pant. I haven't found anything in my cushings research that addresses those symptoms so I am turning to the gang for help. Anyone have any info or experience? Many thanks |

| Sounds like some sort of seizure. Try to video it and send to your vet.

| Sounds like vestibular syndrome. She needs to be seen by the vet! This could be from an inner ear issue or something neurological with the brain.

| These are neurological symptoms. She should be evaluated immediately by a vet.

| Hi Flakes, I'm new here so I can only HOPE I'm replying to your post. I was a vet tech for 22 years and saw your post and was concerned. It sounds as if your girl has something else going on besides Cushings. I agree she should be checked out by your vet for an underlying neurological problem as soon as possible. The "circling"& air licking worries me, this doesn't sound right. I hope this helps. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | As a Mom of a Cushings dog, no this doesn't sound like Cushings. That said, what are you giving her for Cushings and when were her last levels checked? The reason I'm asking is bc the shaking/panting could be do to over-medicating, where she actually is getting TOO much cortisol removed....at which point you actually have to give her emergency oral cortisone (which you should have at home from your vet).

| If this is pituitary cushings & the tumor is pressing on something in her brain then yes it can be from the cushings. |
