| Anti-Yeast Diet? Hello all... I am brand new here, so please forgive me if I'm asking a question that has already been addressed a million times. I did look through the threads, but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for. My little girl, Sadie, is six years old. About a year ago, she started getting allergies and the resulting nasty yeast infection that often occurs due to allergies. The vet has given her a round of antibiotics on two different occasions and that has helped. She is just now starting to get that "corn chip" smell again, and I have no doubt that the yeast infection is back. I would really like to change her diet to something that will prevent these yeast infections, or at least help control them. I've been doing some research into the best food for this issue, but every time I think I've found the answer, I'm unable to locate the food I'm looking for, or I learn something new that she "shouldn't have". I know that I should avoid foods that have carbs... such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. Does this include peas? I haven't read anywhere that peas are a problem, but they are a carb, right? My online research led me to a product called Precise, but I haven't been able to locate it anywhere nearby. Do any of you have any suggestions? I've read that the first seven ingredients should NOT include potato, sweet potato, white rice, corn products, or wheat products. Thank you so much for any guidance you can give... Sandy |

| I have 2 w/allergies & yeast & they're on a no potato, no sugary food diet. Seems like antibiotics makes it worse for my guys & they were on temaril-p for awhile. They're doing very well on Canine Caviar Open Sky (Duck & Chickpeas) & Wilderness (Venison & Peas). If you haven't seen this vid, it's worth a watch: Eating These Foods Can Cause Dog Yeast Infection I also wash their paws after we come back from daily evening walks. I use Warren London Paw Sani-Scrub. It's an anti-bacterial cleanser that you can wipe off w/a towel, but I wash it off w/water bc they're paw lickers. They don't lick their paws as much anymore tho. I used to sell it on my site but don't carry WL anymore, you can get it @ Petco.

| YVW. I also give my guys premade raw for 1 meal, they're doing very well on it. Princess used to have brown gunky itchy ears & once I stopped giving her any 'sugary foods', her ears have cleared up & it's no longer itchy. I had to clean her ears out every other day & the brown gunk was never ending & she used to scratch her ears til it bled! It really surprised me how a simple change in diet made such a dramatic change on her health. Of course, her vet never mentioned food but just prescribed her meds. I'm so grateful for the YT member (sawwie, can't remember who it was!) that linked Dr.Becker's vid. Hope everything will turn out for the best for Sadie!

| After SO many rounds of antibiotics, antifungals, Temeril-p, and shots, I finally decided to to try one last thing for my yeasty-beasty boy Neo. After researching thoroughly any info I could find, good OR bad, I decided to try Nzymes and all the info that came with it. I started it on August 12th, and now it is August 30. There has been a definite improvement, and I will continue with the program as long as it takes to completely purge him of the yeast that has been a plague to him since he was a pup! Is a long, slow road to recovery, but I have seen more improvement in this short period of time than the last couple of years with the shots, pills, and sprays he (and we) have had to endure! |
