| I had the same problem with my little girl Chloe, she still doesnt eat enough dry food but she eats wet food. I always leave the dry food down and I will catch her eating it every once in awile. I leave down Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lovers Soul. It seems to be the only kind of dry food that she will eat. If she will only eat the wet food then I would just let her eat it you dont want to starve her. If they dont get enough food they can get really sick.

| this is what i do.... lexi never ate dry food either, i think because it was too hard for her, so as of day 1 i used my food chopper and chopped cups and cups of food for her and put it in a jar all smashed up, combined with her wet food... whala she eats it now...and for treats sometime, i give her her dry food whole thinking she is getting a treat , but its her food that does good for her teeth.. im slick...... i still do it...

| Tucker only gets dry food. I am so paranoid about his teeth, because he won't let anyone in there to clean them, so he doesn't get anything that could stick to them. If it is all that is out then your pup will eat it eventually. Naturally they would prefere the wet stuff-it's easier and probably tastes better, so given the choice they will always go after the wet food. To me it was a "tough love" thing. I refused to give him anything else and then he saw things my way. If only I could be that tough about other things....he's such a spoiled brat!

When we 1st got the Chicken Soup for Pet Lovers which is dry, I soaked it for a couple minutes with just enough water to cover food so it softened slightly. After a week or so, I started using less water until she ate it dry. Now both Yorkies eat it dry. Did your breeder recommend you put 1/8 teaspoon of syrup in the food till they're about 4 months old? I did that every meal from 8-12 weeks. Now I'll just be doing it at the early a.m. feeding. That helps to keep their blood sugar up. They do tend to get hypoglycemia. Good luck!

| You might try wetting dry dog with waterdraining water off after a minute or so, then putting 1/8 teaspoon syrup on top. If you have a feed store close to you, go there and get a sample bag of Chicken Soup for puppies ($2.99 bag). Pet stores and grocery stores do not carry PREMIUM DOG FOOD. Good luck.
