| Dark Stomach? I'm wondering if any of you have experienced what I am right now... My 5 year old yorkie, Haylee, used to have a peach/pink belly and over the past year it seems to be getting darker in color, with almost a purple tint. I have brought it to the vets attention, with no concern on their end. Just wondered if you all had any insight. Thanks, Rachel & Peanut, Haylee, Mya |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | My kiddos sometimes have had skin color changes too. Often, it's from nothing. For your kiddo, if the skin has noticeably thinned/gotten more fragile - then I'd want to dig further. No changes in her fur? If there is fur loss, then I'd want to dig further too...ie, thyroid testing etcetera.

| They probably are chalking it up to a pigment change. Never hurts to do labs. If it looks healthy otherwise, I'd be inclined to trust the vet (as long as they can tell you what it is). My girl has developed dark speckles on the bottom of her tummy and around her girly parts. Pigment for her and no problem..

| Great! Thank you both for your input. She has no coat or skin issues other than the pigment change. Next time I'm at the vet with one of my 3 yorkies, I will bring it up, but I have no sense of urgency considering that otherwise, she has had no changes. Good to know it's not just my Haylee Baylee! Thanks again! |
