Yorkie Yakker | ticks & fleas Has anyone had a problem with ticks or fleas this summer? My baby was scratching and I took him to the vet. The vet said it was allergies and gave him an allergy shot. Well I had my groomer out a couple days later and she pulled like 7 or 8 tiny ticks of of him. I am very upset that the vet did not see them. I give him revolution every 30 days. Our boxer is having the same issues. We have sprayed the entire yard because we think they must have gotten into a nest. I am very concerned about this since the ticks are so tiny I can hardly see them. Any ideas?????? |

| Pulled off 7 or 8 ticks? Or do you mean fleas? Having that many ticks on him wouldn't be good - I'd check him for lymes if that was the case. But yes ticks are really bad around here. Fleas not so much *knock on wood* but I have to use K9 Advantix in the summer/warmer months. It's the only thing that seems to help. Even so, we've found 3 ticks on him so far this summer but that's not much compared to what he used to get while on Frontline.

| Revolution only covers dog ticks. https://www.revolution4dogs.com/default.aspx?sec=Ticks. Not deer tick which can give your dog Lymes and other tickbourne illnesses. I use a topical spray to deter ticks on mine since Buddy is very allergic. Ark Naturals with Neem oil. Ark Naturals :: Neem Protect Spray Ark Naturals :: Flea Flicker! Tick Kicker! Are you sure it was not fleas? I have never seen that many tick in a dog unless they were not properly cared for.

| Since our winter was a "no show" the fleas have been horrible here. My furkids take Comfortis and we have treated our front yard with a product called Over and Out. We have also used food grade diatomaceous earth inside the house and out. We are doing ok for now but it is a constant battle. I cannot wait for cooler weather!! I might also add that everyone that I know that lives in south is having the same problem. Even our vet is fighting fleas. He uses Comfortis flea pills as well as Ovitrol Flea Spray.

| We use Revolution too, but I thought it was for both fleas and ticks. : ( We choose to give Hope the lyme vaccine because we do get deer in our yard. Hope your little one will be ok. |
