| ![]() Dany my 10 week old is slowly overcoming coccidia, giardia, and pancreatitis. Since she's been sick for about 3 weeks, she has had no appetite which requires us to syringe feed her every 4 hours (Clinicare liquid diet & Royal Canin low fat wet food). We just got the ok today from the vet to get her to try to eat on her own using bland foods like chicken, turkey, lean ground beef, sweet potato, pasta, rice, and egg. I've never cooked for a dog before so I would like to know what are the best cooking methods for chicken, turkey, or ground beef for dogs? Boil? Cook it in a pan? Anyone also have other bland diet suggestions other than those I listed? ![]()

| ![]() I home cook for my girls. I use chicken and I bake it. Only chicken breast. I also have used brown rice and sweet potato. I think the rice would be more of a bland diet. Did your vet give you a recipe to follow?

| ![]() Thanks for the advice! No the vet didn't give me any recipe to follow, just gave me a list of meats (chicken, turkey, and lean beef) to try giving to her, and rice, pasta and egg.

| ![]() I would definitely boil the chicken!! Good luck to you...I have been in your shoes with a pup that had a bad case of giardia that lasted too long. I fed boiled chix and a baked white fish(talapia) and sweet potato . ( The white fish idea was given to me by one of the YT moderators).

| ![]() I have had my 1 yr old on a bland diet for 1 month. My little one likes tuna in water and left over salmon. I often have eggs for breakfast and she likes those also. She doesn't like rice at all so I have substituted frozen green beens (nuked) with protein (chicken, turkey or beef) Sometime I mix in a touch of cottage cheese and that will get her eating. She is picky. Good luck. |
