| spaying question Khloe gets spayed this month. Can anyone tell me the weight of their little girl when she got spayed ? Khloe is a little over 3 pounds right now. Is this a good weight. Are there any special blood panels or anything I should request prior to her spaying? I recall years ago that Kirby had some panels or bloodwork done before the surgery. I want to make sure that Khloe is fine prior to surgery. |

| I had blood work done a few weeks before her spay I think it was just called a blood panel.. I also paid extra for a Laser spay which was amazing, she has no scar and recovered in a couple days. I highly suggest the laser spay!

| Before Callie got her surgery they called it a presurgery blood panel at my vet and I would never get any surgery with out getting the blood work done first.

| Our little Fifi was just spayed today, she weighs 6 lbs. and did just fine in the surgery. She will be 4 yrs. old in July. She is now resting peacefully after using her pp pad, before that just a little whimpering, so I suppose that was because she had to go. She still won't eat or drink and had her pain meds around 4PM. I offer water at least every half hour, but she has no interest as yet. I was told by our vet that they have even spayed 2.5 lbs. dogs before and had no problems. I hope this will encourage you. I'm keeping little Fifi right next to me in her pet stroller and it works out great. All the best to you and your little Khloe. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | My Ruby was spayed at just over 3lbs, was 13 mos. old and did just fine. I did have pre-op blood work done. Also, she had retained puppy teeth removed at the same time.
