Two months ago Nicole (4yrs. f) vomited and that was folowed by 2 weeks of diarea. Went to vets changed diets 2 weeks later started acting very lethargic and her stomach was bloated. Had blood tests x-rays and edioscopy. Tests revealed low blood protein and a bacterial infection. 3 weeks ago started her on prednisone, antibiotics, ranitidine and crafate. Now she can't walk, lost 5 lbs and is very weak stomach still very bloated. I don't know if she can make it another week.

OMG I am so sorry, has the vet checked for liver shunt disease? I had a nw puppy that died from it. Has Nicole had an acid bile test done? Search the web for Terri Shumsky or Liver Shunt, she is an expert and will email you back with some more info. she helped me out when I lost my baby Max. Gosh this is just horrible. I will say a prayer for your dog tonight!! Is it in emergency care because after losing 5 pounds it seems it would be on IVs. Ihope everything works out. You and your dog are in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear about Nicole. I will pray she gets on the road to recovery ASAP!
