| Help please!! Hi, We got our 3 year old yorkie 4 weeks ago. During the weekend we brought him for a long walk through fields, when we got home he went crazy running around, trying to dig into the couches and when he was running his body was low to the ground. He calmed down after a couple of hours, we thought maybe he was over tired. The next day (yesterday) he was a bit quiet but he was happy out. Then today after another walk through a field, he went crazy running around low to the ground and rolling around. We just notice that he has a 3 little red spots on his belly. We think he may have been stung by a nettle? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

| If you are walking in fields, it could be a number of things... maybe try an antihistimine cream/gel and see if that helps. If you are thinking stinging nettle, I'd call the vet asap to see what they recommend bc the irritant is acidic, gets into skin and would need to be neutralized.

| Sounds like this little boy hasn't had much regular exposure to good long nature walks and is really just so overstimulated by all the experiences and smells he's near to doggie nirvana. Then, with all that excess stimulation still circulating through his whole system, when he's brought indoors, he's still "jacked up" and does what he can to wind down. Sounds even like he's hoping to locate some of those wonderful odors and smells in the house, since he's still not that familiar with it. Or, the in-house activity could be totally related to the itching or discomfort he is having from the contact making the red spots. Likely it is a combination of both. Good for you for giving him a loving home and a chance to get to enjoy the outdoors and great exercise in the process. It does sound like he's got some type of reaction to a plant or some type of bug bite he got while glorying in nature's wonders but don't think all of his post-walk activity is totally related to that. Hope the vet can treat it successfully and remove anything that might be stuck under the skin and that your little guy gets to continue his fun outdoors. He sounds like a typical terrier!
