How much food does a 6 month old yorkie need? I am switching him to nature balance. The bag say's 1 c. to 1 1/2 c. a day. I read somewhere that they only need about 1/4 c. two times a day.

It really all depends on your pups activity level, age, current weight, body condition, etc, etc, etc as well as the calories of the food.

Jackson is a healthy 3 year old, 16lbs, very active, in shape and typically eats 2/3 cup a day (1/3 in AM and 1/3 in PM with a spoonful of wet food) of a 430 kcal/cup food. I up it to 3/4 cup per day if the calories are a bit less on a different food.

Maybe this will help Dog Food Calculator as make sure you switch slowly or it could mess up his tummy.
