Bad Breath and Allergies - Dog Food Brandy has been on Solid Gold Wee Bit for quite some time. However it gives her bad breath. We just changed her to Nature's Variety Prairie Chicken Meal and Brown Rice Medley. I think she is allergic to it because she has been scratching for 3 days, as long as she has been eating it. We are going back to the Solid Gold with the hopes that she stops scratching. We will try to find something that she is not allergic to and doesn't give her the bad breath. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Wellness Simple Solutions. It has one novel protein and one carb. Natural Balance also carries a hypo-allergenic line as well. Both can be found at Petco. Both are a complete and balanced diet.

I'm not sure if there is really any one dog food that helps with bad breath. Basic oral care could help though. I brush Sasha's teeth at least every other day, use Petzlife Oral Care gel on the days I don't brush & she also gets holistic dental treats usually every other day. To me, her teeth are in better condition than what they probably would look like if I didn't care for them like I do. Just a suggestion.

Not Food Allergies - It's Mites Took Brandy to the vet and found out she has mites. We have used Revolution once a month since she was 8 weeks old. We heard that Advantage worked just as well and you didn't need a prescription, so tried it. Huge mistake. We live on a beach and Brandy loves to run and dig in the sand. We had been traveling for a few months so as soon as we got home, we let her play in the sand. Come to find out Advantage has nothing to control mites but Revolution does. Cost over $100 for the vet and treatment. Definitely back to Revolution.
