| Callie was on intercepter but our vet ran out and wasnt going to be ordering anymore so she said sentinel is about the same thing and that is what Callie is on right now. I think heartworm prevention is pretty important.

| I use Interceptor. I get it at my vet and it is about $25.00 a month for 3 dogs.

| I have used Hartguard Plus for 15 years. My dogs have all come up with a negative blood test at their annual visit. |

| If you are now living in Fla. then your dog should be on prevention. The mosquitos in Fla are like small planes and that is how heartworms are transmitted. Ask your vet what the situation is like in your area. |

| Why did your vet decide not use Interceptor anymore?

| My Yorkie is on Interceptor or Sentinel depending on my mood and how much I want to pay that month (doesn't matter because the heartworm portion is the same drug from the same company at what I assume is the same dose). My other dog is on Heartgard Plus for now. FWIW, my vet uses Sentinel or Heartgard for her own dogs.
