| diet advice cushing's dog with several other conditions? hello. i am seeking some advice for a diet for my 10 year old yorkie zowi. she has several medical conditions that are requiring a change in diet and any advice / suggestions that i could discuss with her dogtor would be greatly appreciated. she is currently on hills rx diet w/d only, nothing else, but this is only temporary (for a week.) as of 9/25/2011 she has atypical cushing's, a slight case of pancreatitis, high cholesterol, high triglycerides, an enlarged liver, hypothyroidism, and is overweight. her dogtor is recommending that i decide on a food that is low in fat (less than 12%), moderate in fiber (8-17%), has highly digestable protein, and is low in sodium and low chloride. i am currently researching analysis of different foods that fit this guideline. she has been eating blue buffalo small breed chicken and brown rice formula previously for over a year. if anyone has had good results with a food matching this description, please let me know. of course, i plan on speaking with her dr before a definite choice is made. she is expecting me to call her in the next week with some options... thank you!

| My late Molly had Cushings (but no med's were used) her symptoms weren't that bad. She also had Chronic Pancreatitis, Early Renal Diease. In the End Cancer was what took her almost a year ago. I will tell you what I fed her, she ate the Natural Balance Reduced Calorie Dry Food and with about two Tablespoons of either Hill's Rx ID or RD added to it. Her only treats were Cherrios. Not sure if this matches what your looking for, but my Molly did great on this.
