Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Tallulah had her spay surgery! I finally had Tallulah spayed Wednesday at age 14 months. I actually wanted to have her spayed as early as the vet felt was safe, and with all the digestive issues she has had, out vet advised holding off until just now. She paso had to have two puppy teeth removed and I had her microchipped. I was absolutely terrified when I left her with the vet and i couldn't relax until they called to let me know she did just fine. I got to take her home late in the afternoon and I have to say it has been a piece of cake. She was a little woozy until yesterday morning and I gave her one of the pain pills Dr. sent home the first night. She's been a little less active than usual (more lap time for me!) but her appetite and all other behavior are normal. Dr. didn't want to put an e-collar on her because of collapsing trachea, but suggested I put her in a onesie if she started licking her incision. I got her some newborn size onesies (she weighs 6.5 lb) and didn't even have to modify them. With the front of the onesie on T's Bach, the little snap part goes around her tail. After she wore it that way for a few hours I ticked the ends under so she could potty and haven't re-snapped it - she hasn't tried to get at the incision since. I feel so much better knowing I did the right thing at the right time for my little one and SO relieved thet it has turned out so well. Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences for making the whole thing a little easier! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Just re-read my post and realize how illiterate I sound. My iPad's auto-correct loves to change my words. Guess I'll be thinking twice before I assume other people's mistakes are from ignorance in the future. Sigh... |
