| Is this typical? My 11 week old yorkie ate like a pig on Saturday and has been really picky (barely nibbling) Sunday and today about eating. Do they binge like that and then take a break for a day or two? |

| Sophie sometimes does that. But she always picks back up. She also acts normal, running around, playing, and drinking water, during these periods. I'm not sure if its normal for yorkies but its sorta normal for her. She just eats more on days than others. I hope this helps and your baby gets better. |

It is very important that young puppies eat regularly to keep their blood sugar stable. It is not normal for a puppy to go 12 hours without eating. Make sure he is drinking and not getting dehydrated, and that gums are pink & moist. If your pup has truely gone a day without food, you need to contact your vet immediately.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | The only time I've had one do this was when Ruby ate much more than normal. The next day she wouldn't eat and was shaking.....she had pancreatitis. I never allow her to over eat after that episode. I strictly control her portions now and divide her food into 3 meals per day.

| Tibbe can feast one day and then really just pick at his food for a day or two after that. He's done that all his life.

| Thanks everyone. I do 3-4 small meals of canned food and always have dry kibble available. She is drinking. Peeing and pooping. She'll eat a bite or two and then wander away. I've been giving her the nutrical supplement 3 times a day. She's also playing and acting normal. |

| It's nothing to be too scared about honestly my tatyana is pretty picky when it comes to food, and she'll take her food out in pieces, but she eventually eats. As long as she's drinking water she's fine. Dogs can go a couple of days without food (My vet told me this btw). So just watch he/she and eventually they will start eating hope this helps. |

| I have seen this happen when their is a food change. They love the new food for a day or so, then get disinterested. As long as your pup is drinking, and having firm poops, she is fine. I do free my 2 , and seen them eat a little more at night then during the day. I am not sure why they prefer dinnertime more then throughout the day , but I guess by then they are hungry.

| Thanks so much!! She's eating better today. She likes dry food better than wet??? That is odd. I figured all dogs like wet food better... |

| Mine likes dry kibble better too! I wondered if it was because I often give her a few pieces of her kibble when she pees on her pad, so she views it as a treat.
