| Canned food I've read where many of you supplement kibble with canned food. I have not found a canned food that mine will eat. I have bought a jillion different kinds. They sniff it, then walk away. A few in the pantry now include: Wellness, California Natural, Evo (chicken and turkey), Grammy's Pot Pie and Science Diet. I have tried a lot more than this. Also, do you mix with the kibble or offer it separately? I have tried it both ways, but they still turn up their noses.

| You can do it either way. There is no reason that a healthy dog would need canned food. Probably better off just skipping it..

| I would save a lot of money if I quit buying canned food only to throw it away. They eat a good kibble but canned food they won't touch. I'll save my money.

| Ziva loves a little wet food on her kibble - but Not canned food. I just steam a little beef or chicken and freeze it in tiny tupperware containers and defrost for her dinners, I use so little I'm sure it is cheaper than canned. A whole can of salmon is less than $2 on sale and No additives, makes a lot of containers.I think I got the salmon idea from Brittney("Britster", Jackson's mom) |

| I'm not sure what the purpose in using wet food if you are feeding dry - maybe someone could clue me in? When we first brought Smokey home he was very malnourished so we supplemented with wet for weight gain purposes, but once he got to a normal weight we stopped. At any rate, I do give my pups a little wet food each day, but only a small spoonful so I can give the a joint supplement for their LP. It's called Bellyrubs Organic and they absolutely love it. Even picky Smokey gobbles it right up. Bellyrubs Organic - Dog Food

lot and was wondering what I was doing wrong as mine would not eat canned food. I've tried the Bellyrubs as well, with no success. That's ok, I will stop torturing them!

| We feed canned and kibble. But, if you are worried about getting the right nutrients, my breeder suggested NuVet. They are alittle pricey but they are wonderful. NuVet vitamins are all natural and help alot of problems. Good luck. |

| I feed canned with kibble but mainly for him to eat something yummy. He LOVES canned food and he rarely eats dry kibble without it. So I started it to get him to eat properly and on a good schedule. If he ate his dry kibble happily and normally, I wouldn't worry about wet food. He literally won't eat for days if I just leave dry food out, lol, and I really don't mind giving him something yummy as it's nice seeing him enjoy his meals. It does provide added moisture and can sometimes up the protein amount. I feed a bunch of different canned foods but mainly Natural Balance and NV Instinct.

| My two eat dry kibble all the time with no problems but I occasionally treat them with something yummy like wet food. They both LOVE it and I see no problem giving it to them occasionally. I say if yours don't like it, don't bother. It's definitely not an essential

| I only use canned food mixed into kibble for a picky eater. I'm working Alice away from it and she's doing well eating the kibble alone now most of the time. My pain in the butt Akita picks at her food if there's not canned mixed in, so if I need her to eat in kind of a hurry I'll mix some in. If they're eating kibble well, I don't bother with it at all. If I feel like they deserve a little something extra in their kibble, I'll throw in some leftover chicken or raw beef that I'm cooking. Dogs don't need canned food and it's really expensive.

| The only canned food mine won't turn her nose up at is Blue Buffalo Beef & Vegetable. In fact, she loves it!

| Pnut gets Acana Pacifica dry, I put 1/4 cup a day for him. Then he gets 1 tablespoon of wet a day. I will go back and forth with the brand, but he really likes Wellness and Evo. I tried him on the Blue Buffalo and he had a really bad allergic reaction, his whole under belly turned red and he was itching like crazy!! If you can't find one they like I wouldn't worry about it, as long as they are eating the dry food they should be fine. I only give Pnut wet to have a little more in his belly, he hardly will eat a 1/4 of a cup a day, so I want to make sure he is ok.
